Dreams Ladies midfielder Sarah Nyarko has earned her first-ever call-up to the Black Queens ahead of Ghana’s crucial double-header against Egypt in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The talented midfielder becomes a late addition to Kim Lars Björkegren’s squad, stepping in for Helen Alormenu, who was initially named but ruled out of the trip.

Sarah’s inclusion marks a major step in her blossoming career. The versatile player, known for her energy, passing range, and tactical awareness, last represented Ghana at the U-20 level during the Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Before that, she was one of the standout performers for Police Ladies at the WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Yamoussoukro — scoring once and providing two assists to help her side reach the semifinals.

Now back on the national radar, the Dreams Ladies midfielder has been rewarded for her consistent form in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and her ability to influence games from midfield or wide areas. Her versatility is expected to provide Björkegren with more tactical flexibility ahead of the Egypt showdown.

For Sarah, this call-up represents both a breakthrough and an opportunity — a chance to make her mark on the senior stage and contribute to Ghana’s mission of booking a place at next year’s WAFCON.

The Black Queens will play the first leg in Suez on October 23, before returning to Accra for the reverse fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 28.
